PD                              1 [link] shows                              the front elevation, the plan at the deck level                              and provides further description. |  |                                    |                                                                                       | The                            Design Development process is the bridge between                            a schematic concept and the final Contract Documents                            required to fabricate and build. In some cases the                            Design Development work and the Contract Documents                            are the same or nearly so. In cases like this project,                            they are more likely to be distinct iterations of                            work. |                                                | At                            the beginning of the DD process, several issues emerged.                            In order to scale the Nest appropriately, to the                            rest of the structure, its size (width and height)                            had to be cut down. This                            made the centrally located circular stairway problematic                            - there was not sufficient space between the work                            surface and the stairway. Given that some day climbing                            a                            tight circular stairway may be a problem for us,                            our associates, or some future owner, I decide to                            incorporate a Lift instead.
